Trick or Treat | You Don't Need A Costume!

"What are you going as for halloween this year, Daydreamer?" Cinidae started, looking over to their friend and watching the yellow snugzi as they tore up the bottom half of a piece of fabric.  Daydreamer smiled. "I'm going to be a ghost." The other snugzi seemed confused, looking at how complex their side of the room looked. "A ghost? You're doing a lot of work for a ghost costume..."

It was even more complex than Cinidae thought, especially when Daydreamer pulled the actual costume out of the pile of lace and fabric in order to show off a frilly dress made entirely by hand. It was decorated with ribbons and complex embroidery, alongside the tears and stains that were a product of craft knives and paint.  "Obviously you've only seen sheet ghosts! They're fine if you don't have anything else to do, but I prefer to make my halloween costumes look so good that I'll be able to use them for multiple years!"

Daydreamer pulled at a zip on the back of the dress, perfect to unzip the costume, step inside, and then zip it back up. The zipper not only made the costume easy to put on, but the zipper was hidden by their blanki, so it wasn't even noticable! "Oh, that looks... quite nice actually." Cinidae noted, causing Daydreamer to give a smug little smile in response. "Don't worry, I know. Now, what about you? What are you being for halloween?"

The darker snugzi pulled out their own fluffy clothing piece, theirs being a shirt with puffy sleeves and a decorative ruff. Alongside it was a red and black vest with a small set of buttons. When Daydreamer was silent, Cinidae began to put on the clothes, as if them being put on would help the other figure out what he was. "You're.... a rich person?" Daydreamer finally guessed after a few more moments, enough of a time that Cinidae was working on buttoning up the vest- or, a more accurate word might be struggling.

Trying to button it up became more difficult as Cinidae let out a scoff and began to speak. "I'm a vampire, duh!"

A pause. "But... why?"

"Because! It's fun! Now help me button up this vest- I'm having a bit of trouble with this one..." Cinidae trailed off as they tried to fiddle with the button. Instead of answering the call for help, Daydreamer was trying to think about what to say. In all honesty, the 'costume' looked a lot like what Cinidae wore on a regular basis when he did put on clothing like that. They usually tried to be nice about it, but something about seeing this after showing off their complicated ghost outfit made them break.

"That barely even counts as a costume for you!" Daydreamer wailed, flailing their arms around slightly before motioning towards Cinidae's blanki. "You have bat wings, you have bat ears, your blanki already looks like a cape, and you even have bat patterns on your body! You don't need a costume to look like a vampire!"

"So...you're not going to help me button this up?" Cinidae asked, looking down at the vest- almost completely buttoned up except for the final button. Daydreamer paused, looking to the side as if they were considering the answer they wanted to give. Cinidae wasn't worried; they knew that no matter how grumpy Daydreamer acted around them sometimes, they wouldn't say no to helping out a friend. Plus, they weren't mad at all by Daydreamer's outburst. Yeah, it might be a little silly to put on a vampire costume when it didn't do much to change his appearance, but he found it fun- and that was what the season is all about!

And the other Snugzi, of course, caved. They sighed, walking over and putting the last button in its place before stepping back a little. Instead of making another comment about the costume itself, they moved that energy towards the future. "Next year, we're doing a shared costume between the both of us, and I'm going to make sure you're not a vampire."

Cinidae just chuckled, they didn't mind the thought of that too much, as long as they were celebrating together.
