Bommie in the Woods

It was a cold winter night, as Quetzel decided to take a small walk through the frosty, dark forest. It looked marvelous, dark trees contrasting with the sugary white frosting of the snow and the frozen river, silently flowing below the ice.
Quetzel loved the late night walks, being able to walk around when no one would disturb them, watch the stars and the overall peacefulness of the darkness made them feel at ease.

All of a sudden Quetzel heard a slight squeak behind them! Usually all the creatures in the forest were asleep at this time, so it took Quetzel by surprise and made them jump.
He looked around, his eyes having gotten used to the darkness around them, but was still unsure where the noise had come from.
There it was again! But louder…
Quetzal looked around the shrubs near him and there it was! He had read about them in books so he recognized it immediately, it’s a Bommie. Quetzel never had a pet before so he was at first unsure what to do, but when he saw that the pink little creature had a hurt wing, his heart melted and took it with him.
The Boomie was pink and green, it seemed well cared for and only a little dirty. Maybe it had run away and got lost.
Once he got home he immediately lit a fire so the Bommie would have a warm place to sleep. After that Quetzel decided he would have to somewhat fix the hurt wing and put some healing cream and a few bandages on it. The Bommie seemed exhausted and fell asleep really quickly.
Quetzal took a closer look at the Bommie and it was indeed very cute. Light pink body and green ornaments and bows embellish the little creature, it had golden head and back glass
openings, which Quetzel had read, were quite rare! He knew someone was most likely looking for them.
Quetzel made sure to watch over the Bommie overnight and once the sun was up again and Bommie was waking up he decided it was time to eat something.
He made Breakfast for both of them and the Bommie seemed really hungry, so he made sure the Bommie was able to eat as much as it wanted.
Afterwards he checked on the wing again, it seemed to still be a little damaged, so the Bommie being able to fly home on their own would not be an option…

Quetzel sat down and made a few drawings of the Bommie, as it happily modeled on the table and put themselves in a few funny poses. They laughed a lot together and towards noon they both made their way towards the next town. Quetzel had an idea to put up posters so that the owner of the Bommie would maybe see them and be able to contact Quetzel to get the little bean back.
They put up all the posters and Quetzel even asked a few town Snugzis if they knew the Owner of the Bommie, but everyone was a little unsure if they had seen it before.
The night approached again and it was getting cold outside so Quetzel and the Bommie headed back home.
But Quetzel was sure that even if the Owner would not be able to see the posters, the Bommie would be up to perfect health in no time again and it could go on their journey alone.
For now the little one could stay with Quetzel as long as it liked and they had a lot of fun together. The little Bommie even tried drawing with a pen in their beak and made little ink paw prints on the paper, they cooked together and Quetzel read them some bedtime stories too.

After some time the Boomies wing had healed and it was time to say goodbye. Quetzel gave one of the drawings he made of the Bommie to the Boomie as a gift and Quetzel was allowed to keep all the cute paw print drawings the Bommie made, but one that depicted Quetzel and the Bommie sitting in front of a badge of cookies.

Quetzel waved the Boomie goodbye as it got ready to fly off and a few minutes after the Bommie was gone again.
Quetzel was sad that he was alone again, but thought that maybe it was time for him to get a pet of his own now. Maybe one day the both of them would meet again and then he might have another little bean the Bommie could pay with.
