Letter to Shrimothy
My dearest cousin Shrimothy,
I am so, so, SO proud of you for coming out of your shell- figuratively speaking, of course! I knew you had it in you! Even if it was only for the festival, it’s still huge!
Unfortunately I couldn't deliver this letter in person. Turns out you can't clear snow when it's right against your front door. BUT, I'm sure you'll get this letter just as quickly by air! Hopefully!
How's Auntie doing? Oh, you have to cook some of that fried rice for her, really! And tell her that I loved the clothes she sent! All the hongbao were a little much though... how do you even fit food into one of those??? It was all delicious, but HOW??? An ENTIRE bowl of stew???
And Uncle? How’s he doing? You gotta tell him his dumplings were great! They always are, but still!
As for me, I’m doing fine! I’m at home, safe and warm, but I can’t stop thinking about the post office. I need to be at work. I NEED to. How else will people get their mail?
Well, there’s the Aerogon Post, but still! They can only deliver so much, right? Their wings will get tired, of course! And the sky’s even colder than the ground! WHO’S GOING TO DELIVER THE MAIL THEN???
But it’s fine! The snow will melt eventually! Oh, and the flowers will spring up, and the grass will grow, and I can work again! They won’t fire me right? Of course they wouldn’t!
I’m gonna deliver so much mail once I’m out of here! To you, to that little bear guy, to that stained glass girl, to everyone! Everyone will get their mail!
Oh, wait, I still have a shipment to deliver to… What was her name? Catherine? She did say she wanted a new look… Maybe she’s going to change out her stained glass, or dye her bones! The package is pretty heavy so it’s got to be something big!
Oh, but she does need her privacy… I guess I won’t say anything else on it! You’ll just have to come visit again if you wanna see it, huh?
Ah, what else… Oh, Gryss stopped digging for the winter. She says the ground’s too hard with all the ice, and digging in it might hurt whatever she’s trying to dig up. I delivered her last shipment of tools before we all got snowed in over here. I’m running out of things to do, so I’ve been writing letters! I guess those Aerogons are pretty good at their jobs… The other postal workers and I have been sending letters back to the post office so they know what’s going on. Guess I’m not the only one, huh? And even with Aerogons flying around, they can’t carry anything beyond a certain weight. So I’m not out of a job! Their tiny little paws are no match for a pair of pincers after all! But we already knew that, didn’t we?
Love,
Cupid
