Lullaby’s Spring Reflections
1. How does your character welcome back the sun after the long dark, do they have any particular rituals or superstitions they follow?
Lullaby celebrates the return of the sun by waking up early to watch the sunrise on the shore. She hums soft, welcoming tunes as the first light touches the ocean, a quiet little ritual of gratitude. Sometimes, she’ll gather small, pretty shells and arrange them in little sun shapes in the sand, a way of honouring the warmth’s return. She also believes that if she finds a particularly shiny piece of sea-glass on the first bright morning of spring, it’s a sign of good luck and new adventures ahead.
2. What does your character like to do during the spring time; i.e. do they spend a lot of time outdoors, do they participate in spring cleaning, do they catch up with their friends, or plant a garden, etc.
Spring is one of Lullaby’s favourite seasons because it means all her ocean friends begin to wake up from their winter slumbers. She spends more time by the tide pools, excitedly greeting the returning creatures—especially her little hermit crab friend, Toots. She also enjoys exploring the shoreline for treasures, as the changing tides bring in beautiful shells, sea-glass, and little forgotten trinkets. If she finds anything particularly special, she’ll bring it to Juliet, who loves turning sea treasures into gifts of love.
3. What sort of feelings does your character have when the sun starts coming back, do they feel hopeful, excited, do they get grumpy because they like the wintertime best?
Lullaby feels a soft, warm kind of joy as the days grow longer. She’s relieved to have more light to guide her walks and more time to spend with her friends. The quiet solitude of winter was nice for reflection, but sometimes it made her feel lonely. Now, with the return of the sun, she feels hopeful, like the world is gently nudging her to come out of her shell and reconnect with those she missed during the colder months.
4. Spring time is a time for new beginnings, what sort of resolutions does your character have entering the new cycle?
Lullaby hopes to be braver this season. She admires how Nymphadora speaks her mind and how Juliet expresses her love so freely, and she wants to learn how to do that, too. She also wants to explore a little further from her usual shoreline, discovering new places and meeting new faces. Most of all, she wants to create something meaningful—maybe a sea-glass window with Juliet, or a special song to celebrate the season of new beginnings.
